Nutella Puff Pastry ♥

What’s one way to make a long day (not really that long but it sounds right) of fasting end deliciously along with the unfamous samousas and a hot tea or a yummy Alouda ? Nutella Pastry, that’s what.
It is already the 11th day of Ramadan and every single day at home it’s been salty snacks on the menu when it comes to iftaar prep. So, yesterday I decided to change the menu a little bit and add some sweetness on the table. I made this quick & super easy puff pastry using Nutella. It’s so convenient and easy to throw something together using the pre-made dough that we had for almost a year. 😀 Everyone is still alive so, all good!

I wish you could hear the crunch when you bite into these and see the melting chocolate, especially when they’re freshly-fresh! These babies are pretty spectacular, especially given the little amount of effort they require! Let me know if you bake them, I promise you won’t regret, but don’t blame me if you get addicted! You’ve been warned 😀

                                                                    Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (you can get it in any grocery store)
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • Nutella Spread (You can add any stuffing of your liking as well)
Yup,that’s all 😉20160615_154459-01Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C & line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.Step 2: Take a rolling pin and make the thick dough a big square. Spread flour on the dough before you start rolling and on your work station as well (it will prevent the dough from sticking to the rolling pin)20160615_155132-01
    *should look something like this

Step 3: Brush the dough with the whisked egg. Sprinkle with half the sugar and cut into 9 squares (3 x 3 squares). To make smaller pastries, cut the dough into 16 squares (4 x 4 squares).

Step 4: Spoon about 1 tbsp of Nutella in the middle of each square. If making them smaller spoon only 1/2 tablespoon on each.  Pinch two opposite ends of each square firmly and flatten the pinched ends. Brush with the remaining egg and sprinkle the tops with the remaining sugar.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until pastries are deep golden in colour.20160615_161113-01TADAAAAAA!!!
20160615_164318-01P.s If you want to, you can add 1 tablespoon of Nutella in a ziplock bag, heat it for 10 seconds, cut the corner of the bag and drizzle each pastry with more Nutella on top (for some extra fancy deco). I didn’t have time to do it,it was already time for me to break the fast. Slide them onto a rack for them to cool, if you can wait that long! And ENJOY!!! ♥Lemme know in the comments if you gave it a try and don’t forget to 👍 for a lil support.

    Bon Apetite!
